is the school open year round?

We are open year round. We have built in breaks in the calendar. See the link below for the latest school calendar.

What are the school hours?

Our full day program is 8am-3pm. We also offer before school from 7am-8am and after school from 3pm-6pm.

It is our policy that no child’s day exceeds 10 hours per day.

Where are we on the waiting list? How long is the waiting list?

The waiting list is a master list that is composed of all families interested in enrollment. In an effort for efficiency, the list is not organized by age or classroom. Therefore, your place on the waiting list is not representative of your “place in line.”

When we have a space become available we narrow an age range for the opening in the classroom. For example, the available space could be suited for a child ranging in age from 18 months to 24 months. With this information, we would go to the list, starting at the top, and flag all those that fit within that age range. Using this system, the group of those that fall within that age range could include families from all over the list.

The attention to age range is so important for balancing the mix of ages within each classroom. This also allows us to plot pathways for each child. These pathways ensure that every child will have the clear path to transition to the next classroom, based on their unique developmental pace.

We have found this system to work best to honor the individual needs of all of our children at Tomorrow Montessori School. We acknowledge the difficulty in planning it brings to prospective families. We have done our best to balance the needs of our children and the needs of our prospective families. We hope this helps you understand the system.

When do openings in the classrooms become available?

This is a difficult question to answer. We are a small school with limited space within each classroom. This coupled with our low student turnover rate makes predicting openings very challenging.

The only spaces that become available with regularity are our infant spaces. These spaces are defined with an age range of 3 months old to 8ish months old. Once a child is mobile (crawling), they are no longer eligible for these spaces. They will certainly remain on the waiting list. They just no longer fit the age range for those regularly available spaces.

We take infants in two cycles per year, beginningISH of the year and midISH year. This system allows time for the infants to meet developmental milestones at their own pace. As these young friends age, they move up to fill available spaces in our other classrooms.

We hope this explanation helps you to better understand the uncertainty of availability in our classrooms.

What is the admissions process?

When we have a space become available we will narrow an age range to fit that space. We will consult the waiting list, starting at the top, flagging all that fit within that age range. From there we get in touch with families, one at a time to let them know that a space is available. At this time, we will offer to set up a time to tour the school. This is most often a one on one tour with the director. These tours typically take about an hour.

If it is decided, by you, that Tomorrow Montessori School would be a good fit for your family, a non refundable security deposit is taken to secure the space that is being offered. The deposit is $500. The full amount of the deposit is applied to the registration fee and the first month’s tuition. A start date will also be decided at this time.

Time will also be arranged for the child and the parents to meet the teachers. We require a slow transition week for all new students. The first week of school, the child will have an abbreviated schedule. This schedule is dependent on the age of the child.

Can I schedule a tour?

We only offer tours if we have a space available to offer your family. This is our policy for a few reasons.

First, and foremost, we are committed to keeping our classrooms safe and stable. It is not beneficial for our students to have unnecessary visitors in their classrooms.

We have also found this policy to honor the efficiency of the daily schedule.
